Seven Finnish universities make THES top 400 ranking

According to The Times Higher Education Supplement's (THES) ranking for 2008, the best Finnish university is the University of Helsinki at 91st place, up 9 places from last year

Seven Finnish universities have made it onto a list of the 400 best universities in the world.

According to The Times Higher Education Supplement's (THES) ranking for 2008, the best Finnish university is the University of Helsinki at 91st place, up 9 places from last year.

The other Finnish universities on the list were the Helsinki University of Technology (211), the universities of Turku (246), Kuopio (313), Tampere (336), Oulu (372) and Jyväskylä (391).

As has been the case ever since the list was first published in 2004, British and American universities topped the chart.
